Hawk Simulator

With respect to the cockpit design and performance the Hawk simulators correspond to the real aircraft as closely as possible. They are fitted with a three-channel day visual display system manufactured by McDonnell Douglas.

Training

One simulator has a motion system with freedom of movement about all three axes. The simulator is flown as a real Hawk aircraft. The pilot wears the Hawk pilot’s flight gear and equipment and uses the instruments and controls like those of the real aircraft.

The simulators can be interconnected functionally so a pilot at the controls of one simulator can see in his visual display an aircraft flown by the pilot in the other simulator.

Flight Instructor

The flight instructor controls the flight acting as instructor pilot, air traffic controller, commanding officer and pilot of the target aircraft. The instructor can reproduce one or more failures in the simulated Hawk, in which case the student has to react to a failure and decide whether to make an emergency landing or eject.

The simulators are armed with the same weapons as the real aircraft. Target recognition and interception modes with real-time display can also be simulated.
