Quality Certificate for Finnish Fast Jet Training

On January 17, 2007, the Training Air Wing (TAW) was awarded an international ISO 9000:2000 Quality Certificate for its excellent operation. The certificate strengthens the position of the TAW in multinational training business.

FINAF cadets are given advanced and tactical training with the Hawk in the TAW. On completion of this programme they become qualified officer pilots. The majority of pilots proceed toF-18 training in the Air Commands.

Thanks to the high quality of Hawk training pilots are fully prepared for operational fighter training so the amount of costly F-18 flight training hours can be kept relatively small. According to Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance the operations of the TAW are thoroughly well organised and planned, and the unit deserves a special mention for its procedures in result-oriented assessment and giving of feedback as well as recording of assessment.

The FINAF has for a long time focused on the quality of the operations in all its units, including those based in Kauhava. By participating in Finland’s Quality Award Competition its units have increased openness and transparency of their operations.

The slogan of the FINAF: “Qualitas Potentia Nostra” (Quality Is Our Strength), which has been in use since 1968, is still justified.
