NPTC Flight Training

General

Advanced training (Phase III), tactical training (Phase IV) and flight instructor courses (FIC) are available in the Nordic Pilot Training Centre (NPTC) in the Kauhava Air Force Base.

The training objective is to produce proficient and mission oriented independent pilots who are capable of making decisions and are eligible for follow-on training in modern fighter aircraft.

There are standard training syllabi for all courses with flexibility to tailor the content based on the customer’s specific requirements and objectives for training. The NPTC’s training flexibility can be considered a remarkable benefit for customers and allows flexible implementation of the training.

NPTC Hawk training objective is to guarantee that all student pilots will be capable of moving on safely to demanding modern fighter aircraft conversion and tactical training.

NPTC training is conducted under military aviation regulations and the Hawk fast jet aircraft is military certified and registered. The training system covers all flying, synthetic and academic training, together with required support facilities and functions such as training management system and mission planning and debriefing system.

NPTC training is designed to follow the use of a building block approach. The advanced competencies of air combat training will be approached in a gradual learning curve. The training objective is described and defined in a form of skill set definitions in a detailed level of the training syllabi.

The academic training system provides all required theoretical knowledge, including mission planning and debriefing tasks. Academic training is motivating and individually dedicated, provided during classroom sessions and by unlimited access to self-instructing computer aided training.
